 2019 Winter Prospect Camp

Two Sessions will be available, details below. Session A will consist of an offensive and defensive evaluation in a showcase format for each prospect. This will include running times, exit velocity testing, hitting evaluation, defensive evaluation, infield throwing velocity testing and outfield throwing velocity testing. All participants will also receive individual defensive instruction at their position from SDSU staff and offensive instruction as well. This session includes infielders and outfielders only. Session B will consist of an evaluation of pitchers and catchers only. Catchers will be given the opportunity to showcase running times, offensive exit velocity, pop times and throwing velocity. Pitchers will be given the opportunity to throw live bullpens. Catchers and pitchers will include also receive instruction from the SDSU staff. This will include defensive instruction for the catchers (blocking, transfers, throwing, receiving, recovering bunts, etc) and additional instruction for the pitchers as well (PFP’s, picks, agility work, throwing program, arm care, etc.)


Location: Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex, located on the Northeast Corner of South Dakota State University Campus

What To Bring: Baseball pants, hat, helmet, bat, glove, batting gloves, catchers gear, molded cleats or shoes (NO METAL)

Additional Information: If a camper will require any accommodations due to special needs, we ask that you notify us via e-mail or in writing of those needs a minimum of two weeks prior to the camp start date so we can make the accommodations.
